Full Biography
Lt. Colonel (ret.) Daniel Rakov is an expert on Russian policy in the Middle East and great-power competition in the region. He is a senior researcher at Tel Aviv University’s Elrom Center for Air and Space Studies, Tel Aviv University, and at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security (JISS). He served in the Israeli Defense Forces for over 20 years, mainly in the Israeli Defense Intelligence. From 2019 to 2021 he was a research fellow at the Russian Studies Program at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) in Tel Aviv. Follow him on Twitter: @rakovdan
