Our flagship annual publication, Africa: Year in Review is an opportunity to reflect on the past year of events across Africa and evaluate the implications for US relations with African countries going forward. African Leadership Perspectives Series
This was the first conversation in the African Leadership Perspectives Series, which invites African public figures and former African heads of state to the Wilson Center to discuss US-Africa relations and share insights on African leadership. H.E. Obasanjo reflected on his time as Nigeria’s president and the challenges he and his fellow African leaders faced leading Africa into the 21st century.

Africa Program
The Africa Program works to address the most critical issues facing Africa and US-Africa relations, build mutually beneficial US-Africa relations, and enhance knowledge and understanding about Africa in the United States. The Program achieves its mission through in-depth research and analyses, public discussion, working groups, and briefings that bring together policymakers, practitioners, and subject matter experts to analyze and offer practical options for tackling key challenges in Africa and in US-Africa relations.
